"Fellowship Through Service"

Presidential Message 2013-14

Leadership, trust, communication and team building are the key elements to achieve goals in any organization whether it is social, political or educational.

Leadership is to lead oneself to be a better person, the best and a champion. Trust is very essential factor in the group or in team. Communication is vital to achieve success in organization and without effective communication solid outcome is hard to make. Likewise team building is not just but also good coordination and knowing strength of working together as a team.

Dear fellow Rotaractors and Friends

The last Rota-Year which was under the Leadership of IPP Rtr. Padam Kumar Shrestha proved to be really successful for Rotaract Club of Kathmandu. It would be extremely difficult for the coming team to surpass the achievements of last year. But still, we must know that professional development and volunteer service doesn?t involve competition but involves an objective, the objective to make our club much efficient and better than past years.

For me, Rotaract is a platform where young minds meet to achieve a collective vision in order to help others realize their potentials. In Rotaract they develop and grow individually while being able to understand the responsibilities as a citizen and contribute towards our communities.

Rotaract club of Kathmandu has a long history of 17 years and during the course of the past 17 years it has won many citations, locally and internationally. Being one of the pioneering clubs in Nepal, the club has always been among the best in Rotaract Movement of Nepal and yes, like any other organization it also has had its share of ups and downs. With all of our glorious history in mind, this year, we have a shared insight, this year we will build on that foundation which will make our club stronger and yes more efficient and our activities more effective. By setting high achievable project goals, working with our inter- and intra-district clubs and developing the new ways to keep members engaged we will try and set a new milestone for each and every Rotaract club to grasp.

This year we plan on continuing some of our projects and also add some new service projects and some more specialties to make sure we will have fun and along with which we will give back as much as we can to the community and beyond.  I am very much excited to work with our twin clubs in doing some good projects together and helping each other grow and prosper. Let us work together to bring some greater good in this world we live in.

Finally, I wish to express my sincere gratitude to all my fellow members with whose contribution Rotaract Club of Kathmandu has become, what is today! Love Rotaract, Jay Rotaract

Your's in Rotaract
